JOHOREAN MASIH SAYANG BN

JOHOR BARU, July — Penang and Selangor are both contradicting images to Johoreans as they talk about their political future.
They are frequent examples for warring coalitions — Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional — whenever they sell themselves to the public.
Both were mentioned by locals during a recent The Malaysian Insider straw poll on the political temperature of Johor, a state with the highest number of parliamentary seats in the Peninsula and important barometer of BN support.
So when it comes to the survey’s last question, “Do you want BN to continue to govern?”, a significant number of respondents say either: “Of course, just look at the problems in Penang and Selangor” or “I want to change. Look at the good things in Penang and Selangor”.
Though Johor PR leaders loved to crow about these administrations in the early months after Election 2008, these days says Johor Umno information chief Datuk Shamsul Bari Jamali, they hardly mention them.
For in reality, what works and what doesn’t in Penang and Selangor may not necessarily apply to Johor. And PR leaders are finding this out as they ramp up their Johor campaign.

Ho...ho...hoo....PAS, DAP & PKR, ko jangan mimpi nak perintah Johor. Mat Sabu kena sedar diri. Mazlan Aliman kena terima kasih pada Felda. Macamana PAS nak perintah Johor, kalau orang jemput kenduri kendarapun, orang PAS datang, tapi duduk terperosok kat penjuru, nak berbualpun macam rasa bersalah.
